Avast Antivirus Review

what is craigslist

avast antivirus is among the industry’s top-rated security suites. It’s strong on desktop and mobile device protection, scans malware, and offers a host of other features, including an anti-theft system and software updater. It also has sandboxing technology that scans for unknown files before they are run on your device or computer.

The user interface for Avast is simple and clean. The dashboard centrally displays all the tools the suite can provide, with clear icons for each. The menu bar and settings are also clearly marked, and any new issues are highlighted in a message section on the dashboard. Avast’s full scan has minimal impact on performance of the system. The suite also scores high in tests of protection against various types of malware, including ransomware.

Avast however, received a lot of attention in the latter half of 2019 and early 2021 for acquiring and selling user information through a feature dubbed Jumpshot. Thankfully, Avast has ended this practice. It states that it no longer collects any personal information of users in order to market.

Avast offers different subscription plans that are suited to both individuals and businesses. Its basic home plan offers protection for up to 5 devices free, while the paid plans include greater coverage of devices and extra features like a password manager and an ad blocker. The business plans of Avast offer more flexibility and security features, including an encryption tool for internet traffic as well as a USB port monitor to block the use of unauthorised removable storage devices, and a virtual private network for secure browsing.
